Your LinkedIn profile is the most underused tool in your arsenal. This book fixes that.

No one taught us how to build a strategic LinkedIn profile. Most people throw one together and never think about it again. This book walks you through every section: what to include, why it matters, and exactly how to make it work for your specific goal.

"Most LinkedIn advice feels generic. This book? Specific, powerful, and immediately useful. And weirdly enjoyable to read." — H Ryan, PR Professional

No one taught us how to use LinkedIn. So I figured it out.

I wrote this book because I couldn't find anything about how to build a LinkedIn profile that feels like me and that works.

The experts I found shared nothing new. One copy-pasted their resume in the About section, another detailed horrific personal trauma in the About section, and most didn't even have company pages for their businesses. I wish I was kidding.

Books aren't much better because they focused on finding jobs, and I'm an entrepreneur. Or they ignore profiles and focus on lead generation and follower counts.

Things haven't improved much since then: Regurgitated checklists. Generic templates. Promises to fix your profile in 15-30 minutes. (A well-crafted profile definitely takes more than half an hour.)

My goal was simple: to build a profile that genuinely represents me and works for my goals.

I'm a strategist by trade and a problem solver by nature. So I figured it out myself, then couldn't stop teaching it to everyone around me.

This book is what I wish had existed when I started. Not a list of tips. A strategic, section-by-section framework for building a LinkedIn profile that actually represents who you are and what you do. It's written for people who want to understand the purpose behind every decision, not just follow instructions.

If you've ever wondered why nobody engages with your profile

It's not because you're not interesting. It's because your profile isn't set up to invite engagement. Each section is an opportunity. This book shows you how to use every single one.

If you've tried LinkedIn tips and nothing worked

Tips without strategy produce a profile that's technically complete but still not working. This book gives you the strategic thinking behind every section. Not just what to do, but why.

If you're embarrassed to share your LinkedIn link

That feeling is data. It means your profile doesn't represent you. By the end of this book, it will.

If you think LinkedIn is just an online resume

It isn't. Every section is an opportunity to tell your story, to turn a hum-drum list into a dynamic, engaging narrative. A LinkedIn profile is a strategic engagement tool. This book shows you how to treat it like one.

What's inside

Not just what to do. But exactly why, and how.

Did you know that there are over 25 sections on LinkedIn profiles? Each one gets its own chapter. I explain what it's for, what to include, what most people get wrong, and the strategy questions that help you figure out exactly what belongs there for your specific situation and goal.

Start with your goal

Before you write a single word, you need to know what your profile needs to do for you. Client attraction, career moves, thought leadership. The goal drives every section that follows.

Build from the bottom up

The book walks you through your profile, and in the Book Bonuses you'll learn I recommend building it from the bottom up. Start with the sections most people ignore, because that's where your strongest evidence lives.

Your headline, banner, and About section

The three most important sections of your profile, and the three most commonly wasted. Most people ignore the banner entirely. This book shows you how to use all three deliberately and in concert.

Media, featured content, and proof

The sections most people leave entirely blank. Every media slot is a chance to build credibility. Every featured section is an opportunity to craft your audience's journey.

Strategic keyword placement

The old way: stuff all the keywords in your headline or About section. The new way: place them naturally throughout your profile. Make yourself discoverable for both AI and the human eye.

Experience, skills, and the rest

Every section has a strategic purpose. Not every section is for you. This book covers all of them, including the ones you've been ignoring because you didn't know what to put there.

Three sections. One first impression.

The three most important sections of your profile, and how the book teaches you to use them.

Your headline makes you interesting
Your banner makes a promise
Your About section highlights your competitive advantage

Together, these three sections set up your professional narrative for success. The book shows you exactly how to do that.

As heard on Yet Another Book Review

"The book gives clear guidance. No matter who you are or what you do, there's something valuable in it. If you want to stand out on LinkedIn, no matter your endeavor, this book is a great place to start."

AI prompt library: prompts that help you write better, faster

Real profile examples to model

Two ways to buy. You choose what matters to you.

Buy through a major retailer for the fastest, most familiar experience, or buy direct to support the work. Either way, you get the same book.

Buy through a retailer

The easiest option for most people, especially if you're outside the US. Both Amazon and Barnes & Noble carry all three formats.

Available globally. All formats. Ships to most countries.

Buy direct

Prefer to support the work directly? Buying direct means more of your purchase goes to Natalie rather than a retailer. Same book, same content, different path to get there.

Not sure which format? Ebook if you want it immediately. Paperback if you like the feel of paper. Hardcover when you're feeling fancy about it.

Prefer a different retailer? Need to buy in bulk? Most major platforms (including Ingram Library Services) carry the book. Search "Love Your LinkedIn Profile Natalie Berthe."

About the author

Hi, I'm Natalie.

I'm a LinkedIn strategist, personal branding expert, and business strategist who wrote this book because I couldn't find anything worth reading on the subject.

After figuring out LinkedIn for myself and sharing what I learned with clients and colleagues who had remarkable results, I kept being told to write it down. So I did.

The book is the foundation. If you want to go deeper, the Optimize course walks you through every section of your profile with 50+ videos, examples, and resources. And if you want the full private experience, The Authority Protocol is where we build your profile together.

Common questions about the book.

Is this book for me if I'm not a consultant?

Yes. The book is written for anyone whose LinkedIn profile needs to work for them: consultants, executives, founders, career professionals, and even recent grads. The framework adapts to your goal, whether it's client attraction, career moves, thought leadership, or whatever it is you need your profile to do.

Do I need to read the whole book to get value?

Not at all. The book is structured so you can start with whatever section is most broken on your profile.

That said, the strategic foundation in the early chapters informs every decision that follows, so even if you skip ahead to the headline chapter, you'll get more out of it after the goal-setting chapter.

What's the difference between the book and the Optimize course?

The book is the framework. Optimize is the framework with 50+ videos walking you through every section, examples, worksheets, and the full implementation.

If you want to read and implement on your own, the book is enough. If you want video instruction, real profile examples, and templates, Optimize goes deeper.

How do I access the book bonuses?

Inside the book (in chapter 4 and again at the end), there's a link and QR code that unlocks the free online resource library. Worksheets, cheat sheets, templates, AI prompts, and real profile examples.

The bonuses are free with any format of the book.

Which format should I buy?

Ebook if you want it immediately and prefer reading on a device. Paperback if you like the feel of paper. Hardcover if you're feeling fancy about it.

All three contain the same content and the same access to the bonus resource library.

Can I buy this in bulk for my team or organization?

Yes. Most major platforms, including Ingram Library Services, carry the book, which makes bulk ordering straightforward through your usual procurement channels.

For direct bulk orders or custom arrangements, get in touch via the contact links on this site.

Your LinkedIn profile should work as hard as you do.

Start with the book. Build the foundation. Let your profile do the rest.
